Terms of Service
Effective June 22, 2026
These Terms govern your use of Feynman (the “Service”), operated by the operator of this deployment. By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. What the Service is
Feynman is an educational tool that presents lessons and an AI tutor. The AI tutor generates explanations automatically and can be wrong, incomplete, or out of date. The Service is an aid to learning, not a substitute for a qualified teacher, and it does not provide medical, legal, financial, mental-health, or other professional advice.
2. Eligibility and acceptable use
- You may use the Service only for lawful, educational purposes.
- You must not use it to generate or solicit sexual, violent, hateful, self-harm, or dangerous content, to harass others, or to attempt to defeat its safety controls.
- You must not probe, scrape, overload, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
- Where the Service is made available to children, an adult (such as a school or parent) is responsible for supervising that use.
3. AI output and accuracy
Output is produced by a language model and is provided “as is.” You are responsible for verifying anything important before relying on it. Feynman surfaces source links where possible, but does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or fitness of any output for a particular purpose.
4. Intellectual property
Lesson content is derived from a student's own coursework and is provided for educational use. Feynman is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Stanford University or any other institution named in the materials. Third-party names and marks belong to their owners.
5. No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of this deployment will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from your use of or reliance on the Service or its output. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid for the Service (which, for a free deployment, is zero). [Operators offering a paid plan should adjust this cap with counsel.]
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold the operator of this deployment harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or threatens the integrity or safety of the Service.
9. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of [operator to specify governing jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [Operators should add any arbitration / class-action-waiver / venue terms here, with counsel, taking account of consumer- and minor-protection limits.]
10. Changes
We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the effective date above.
