Clap, stomp, clap, stomp

Ages 3–5

The big idea

A pattern is a small unit that repeats over and over, in the same order.

Think of it like a clap-stomp rhythm: Clap, stomp, clap, stomp: the same two moves keep repeating, and you can feel what comes next before it happens.

Feel the rhythm

Clap, stomp, clap, stomp, clap, stomp. Say each move out loud as you do it. Once you've done it a few times, your body already knows what comes next.

👉 Clap and stomp along, then try to keep going without being told the next move.

Wonder out loud
